Japan and the United States agree to develop the helicopter carrier



The governments of Japan and the United States to jointly develop a high-speed small vessels capable of carrying helicopters, with the participation of the Ministry of Defense in the two studies shared in this regard.

The countries intend to direct studies that rely on the Littoral Combat Ship for the U.S. Navy, which has such capabilities.

The promotion of cooperation within the maritime forces of the two countries, especially in the face of growing tension in East Asia because of regional conflicts.
